Instagram’s Popularity

Most things now are driven by money and standardization of people’s lives, it is not odd that social networks are used for the same, given that those are constituted by the offer of a service… rather than just be a clear channel of communication between people.

Taking that in notice, we have to be aware of how things work and what benefit they leave us besides entertainment and whatever their leaders are selling us; so when even we are downloading apps and exploring stores, we should think a bit for rationality’s sake, why are we going to use this?

For example, by realizing there’s a point in Instagram, we could separate the obsessive threads of behavior it feeds along the way from the goal we have for it in pure benefit of oneself.

A few days ago the results of a big survey gave word to the people’s thought on the negative effects the application can have around the young adult’s individual image, and within the culture of a society.

The survey was called “#StatusofMind” and it showed a conclusion based on the opinion of a thousand and a half of young people between the demographic of fourteen years old… to twenty four, that Instagram was a positive place to express them, share their life experiences and thoughts with others and simply communicate what’s on their minds. Express self-identity.

Nevertheless, through the survey participants were interrogated about how each social media channels influenced into their feelings; personal issues influences by these tools are not odd in society, by example we have anxiety, which can be easily triggered by the relevance these networks represent in each person’s life.

Worst Social Network

Let’s be clear, Instagram has been called the “Worst Social Network” for the matter of young people’s mental health regarding the use of social networks, but it is one of the most used apps of all time right now and it remains at a good place with the world.

BUT, it is a bit toxic for society right now… the new generation that relays so much on it to communicate.

The RSPH, or Royal Society for Public Health stated that great issue for a SOCIAL media channel is the fact that it stops aiding the young audience to be social rather than the opposite. Those platforms were not design to affect people’s connection with each other; the influence factor should not lead to conflicts and psychological health crisis.

Social media is the addiction of the new generations; young people are too seduced by it so in a flash they become top priority in their wellbeing. Of course, we can’t just pin it all out over Instagram, this culture has changed, conscience of what we do, why we do it, and where do we want to go with it, are in a loss. As people grow less aware of their world and their selves, the future will only hold an artificial light guiding them as a herd of standard robots, hitting the same wall over and over, till society crumbles again.
